$150 per person with a 3-course lunch

The Pour House Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar is thrilled to offer our Dessert Class. Come learn how to make decadent, restaurant-quality desserts you can't find on our regular menu while enjoying your lunch. With the skills you've newly acquired in this fun-filled participation class, you'll sure impress your family and friends at your next event! Better yet, you need no prior baking experience to fully experience our Dessert Class. Our classes are also perfect for corporate team building and birthday parties with a delicious flair.

June 24, July & August: Chocolate lava cake and raspberry coulis (naturally flourless)

September & October: Grand manier souffle and créme anglaise

MEET OUR PASTRY CHEF

Tomoko Nohina

She comes to the Pour House with a long and impressive list of "sweet" accomplishments. Trained by and worked at Maui's best resorts and fine-dining establishments for over 20 years (The Ritz-Carlton, Montage Kapalua, Grand Wailea, Lahaina Grill, Merriman's, Morimoto, Honu), she brings her passion for baking to our guests at the Pour House. 

Born and raised in Japan, she's always loved teaching baking and sharing her knowledge to her family and friends. Now it is your opportunity to join the list of baking enthusiasts!

When she's not in the kitchen baking or creating new recipes, you'll find her catching the waves of Maui, playing the piano, or practicing Spanish.

DESSERT CLASS MENU FOR JULY & AUGUST

Chocolate Lava Cake and Raspberry Coulis

Chocolate lava cake is cakey on the outside with an irresistible, ooey-gooey molten chocolate center. This cake requires only a few ingredients and is naturally flourless. Plus, no mixer needed!

Lava cake isn't just an undercooked cake. It's a unique combination of a traditional chocolate cake and a soufflé. Although the center is liquid, the internal temperature still reaches 160 degrees, so it's safe to eat. Think of it as a custard or lemon curd. The liquid is cooked just enough to make it thick and creamy, but not so much that it becomes scrambled eggs.

Some people opt for cooking the cake fully and then inserting chocolate ganache after it's baked. While the method isn't necessarily "wrong," it just doesn't make it a true lava cake. The taste and texture of a smooth and creamy custard in a perfectly light and airy outer shell is truly magical and unforgettable!

REGISTRATION AND REFUND POLICY

$150 per person with a 3-course lunch

The ticket price is per one person. If members of your party registered separately, please let us know in advance so that we can seat you together. Once a class is purchased, it is non-refundable. However, the ticket is yours to transfer to someone who'd love to attend in your place. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free dietary restrictions for Dessert Class (unless the menu is specified). Your class may be cancelled with notice and a full refund if a minimum of 10 registrations are not met.

The ticket price includes:

• The Pour House Signature 3-Course Lunch

• Take-home dessert

• Participation class with a recipe
